New FAQs about ACA & MHPAEA Implementation
The DOL, IRS, and HHS have jointly issued FAQs Part XVIII, addressing implementation of a variety of health care reform and mental health parity provisions. Here are highlights:

  • Wellness Programs
  • Fixed Indemnity Insurance
  • The Mental Health Parity and Addiction Equity Act of 2008
HIPAA Violation Costs Doctors $150,000
Adult & Pediatric Dermatology, P.C. has agreed to pay $150,000 and implement a corrective action plan to settle potential violations of HIPAA. This marks the first settlement with a covered entity for not having policies and procedures in place to address the breach notification provisions of the HITECH Act. (More)
