ERISA Wrap Plan Document
Welcome to Wrap-Tight®, offered through ERISAPros®, to help employers with less complicated welfare benefit plans, such as medical, dental, life, and disability insurance. ERISA generally requires employers to maintain a Plan Document and distribute a Summary Plan Description (SPD) for each welfare benefit plan. To simplify administration, the Department of Labor (DOL) allows employers to use a Wrap Plan Document, which combines the required ERISA language with the Certificates of Coverage or similar documents for each included benefit.
What is a Wrap Plan?
A Wrap Plan Document helps bring the benefit plans it covers into ERISA compliance, supports Healthcare Reform updates, reduces exposure to participant lawsuits and DOL penalties, and gives employers greater control over their Welfare Benefit Plans. Wrap-Tight® is a fully automated, web-based system that is updated annually. After you enter your business and benefit plan information into guided questionnaires, the system creates a combined Wrap Plan Document and SPD in about 5 minutes.
